2024/25 Argentina Soybean Estimate Unchanged at 49.5 Million Tons
Author: Michael Cordonnier/Soybean & Corn Advisor, Inc.
Soybeans in Argentina were 96.5% harvested as of late last week with the early planted soybeans 98.4% harvested and the late planted soybeans 91% harvested. The remaining areas to be harvested are concentrated in central Buenos Aires where waterlogged soils have impeded machinery access.
The nationwide soybean yield now stands at 2,990 kg/ha (44.5 bu/ac). The late planted soybeans are averaging 2,500 kg/ha (37.2 bu/ac). The highest yielding soybeans were harvested first, so the nationwide yield has been declining gradually as the harvest moved into the lower yielding soybeans in northern and southern Argentina. The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange left the soybean estimate unchanged at 50.3 million tons.
Below is the soybean harvest progress in Argentina for June 18, 2025 from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.
